Anne Arundel Man Nabbed For Lexington Park Shooting After Victim Walks Into Rescue Squad

An Anne Arundel County man has been arrested days after a Lexington Park shooting sent a 36-year-old victim stumbling into a rescue squad for help, according to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.

Eugene Terrill Harris, 32, was taken into custody without incident at around 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, at a home in the 46000 block of Valley Court in Lexington Park, officials said.

The shooting, reported on Saturday, Nov. 9, began in the 21000 block of Great Mills Road, where the victim was shot before making his way to the Lexington Park Rescue Squad at approximately 5:40 a.m., authorities said. 

The man was later flown to a nearby hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Harris now faces a slew of serious charges, including:

  • Attempted first- and second-degree murder;
  • Assault first- and second-degree;
  • Reckless endangerment;
  • Handgun on person;
  • Loaded handgun on person;
  • Possession of a firearm after having been convicted of a crime of violence;
  • Possession of a firearm after being convicted of a disqualifying crime;
  • Illegal possession of ammunition.

He is currently being held at the Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown as he awaits a bond hearing.

The St. Mary’s County Criminal Investigations Division is continuing to investigate the shooting and encourages anyone with information to come forward.
